History
Burk belonged to the Bishopric of Bamberg. With the Imperial Diet of 1803 the city became part of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

After the last municipal election on March 2, 2008, the municipal council of twelve members, all belonging to the group Free CSU voters Community. The turnout was 58.6 %. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor.
