Burkett Islands

The Burkett Islands are a small group of uninhabited islands in the Southern Ocean. The islands can be found directly off the east coast of the Antarctic mainland, in the region Enderbyland.

The island group was photographed in 1956 in the wake of the Antarctic reconnaissance flights of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions, and later to an Australian radio officer (GEL Burkett ) named.
