Burt Kennedy

Burt Kennedy ( born September 3, 1922 in Muskegon, Michigan, † February 15, 2001 in Sherman Oaks, California ) was an American screenwriter and director.

Life

After the Second World War, Kennedy began to write for the radio. Then he used his training as a cavalry officer to secure a job as a fencing coach. He also trying to stand in for fencing stunts in movies began.

The film contacts led him to write screenplays. His first produced screenplay was 1956, the resulting Budd Boetticher Director at B- Western Seven Men From Now with Randolph Scott. It was followed by three more screenplays in the fruitful cooperation with Boetticher before Kennedy in 1961 moved into directing.
