Button Copy

Button Copy refers to a special production process of traffic signs. The letters and symbols on traffic signs shown (usually signs) are thereby filled with small reflectors (called buttons ). In this way, the visibility is remarkably improved in the dark. This production method has been deprecated since the introduction of retroreflective sheeting the night visibility could be further improved and also the production costs could be lowered. Especially in the United States this type of traffic signs along highways was common. So Button -Copy Signs have been restated for example, until 2000 in the state of Arizona. In Europe, and this type of traffic signs are far less widespread.
