Bystrzyckie Mountains

The Habelschwerdter Mountains ( Polish Bystrzyckie ) is an elongated mountain range of the Sudetes in Poland. It extends to a length of about 50 km to the east parallel to the Eagle Mountains. Its width is about 7 km.

Geography

In 811 m height of the mountain pass Przełęcz Spalona (fire ball ) divides the mountain into two parts. The northern part of the mountains, through which runs the valley floor Habelschwerdter Weistritz ( Bystrzyca ) is characterized by dense forests and peat deposits.

In the high moor Cicha Łąka on the southeast slope of Smolna ( Vogelsberg ) Habelschwerdter Weistritz springs. The protected as a nature reserve Moor Torfowisko pod Zieleńcem east of Zieleniec ( Grunwald ) is the source of the Wild Eagle ( Dzika Orlica ).

Highest mountain is located in the southern mountainous part Jagodna ( Heidelberg) with 977 m height.

The valleys of the Reinerz Weistritz ( Bystrzyca Dusznicka ) and the Wild Eagle disconnect the mountains in the west of the Eagle Mountains. Along the Wild Eagle, the state border runs to the Czech Republic. In the north the Reinerz Weistritz forms the natural border of the Table Mountains. In the East, located 534 m high mountain pass Przełęcz Międzyleska closes beyond the at Boboszów ( Bobischau ) ( Pass of Mittelwalde or Králický pass ) the Śnieżnik mountains on.
