C /CX

C / CX is a technology developed by the software company Microsoft variant of the C programming that simplifies with special language extensions, the programming concerning the new Windows 8 platform Windows Runtime ( WinRT ), in particular for the revised COM programming model. The language extensions are similar to those of the C variant C / CLI, but have different meanings and partly follow a slightly modified grammar.

The abbreviation stands for component CX extensions (English components extensions ), which refers to the C language extensions for COM programming.
