C.H.E. Haspels

Caroline Henriette Emilie reel (* September 15, 1894; † 25 December 1980) was a Dutch classical archaeologist.

Emilie reel was the daughter of George Frans reel. In 1935 she received her doctorate at the University of Utrecht with the work Bijdrage dead van de study Attic zwartfigurig. Your resulting Gone Book Attic black- figured lekythoi became the standard work in the field of black-figure vase painting.

From 1937 to 1939 she led on behalf of the Institut Français d' Etudes Anatoliennes under the official excavation led by Albert Gabriel in the town of Midas in Phrygia excavations. Surprised by the outbreak of war, they could not return to Europe and had to stay in Istanbul, where she sang taught at the University of Istanbul. From 1946 to 1965 she was Professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam.
