Ça Ira

Ah! Ça ira (French: literally, that will go ' in the figurative sense, we can do it ') marks the beginning of a famous battle song from the time of the French Revolution, which was created in May 1790 and during the Federation Festival on 14 July 1790 often sung. It called for a fight against aristocracy, clergy and nobility.

The song exists in several versions. The following version was sung by the sans-culottes during the time of the reign of terror.

Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira, Les Aristocrates à la Lanterns! Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira, Les Aristocrates on les pendra! Le despotisme expirera, La liberté triomphera, Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira, Nous n'avons plus ni classy, ni prêtres, Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira, L' égalité partout régnera. L' esclave autrichien le suivra, Au diable s'envolera. Ah! ça ira, Ah! ça ira, Au diable s'envolera.

Ah, we can do it, The nobles of the lantern! Ah, we can do it, The nobles we will hang! The tyranny will exhale their mind, The freedom will triumph, Ah, we can do it, There are no nobles or priests more Ah, we can do it, The equality will reign everywhere. The Austrian slave even takes his turn, He will go to hell. Ah, we can do it, He will go to hell.
