CA Spectrum

Spectrum Enterprise Manager is a software for network management, which was developed by Aprisma. Spectrum used to monitor the entire IT infrastructure of an enterprise (network, servers, printers, etc. ) and also provides a service management system in which the individual components are assigned to the IT services.

The software is developed by the American software company CA and marketed.

History

Spectrum comes from the company Aprisma, a spin-off of Cabletron Systems, which was acquired in 2005 by Concord itself. Concord itself shortly afterwards acquired by CA. Spectrum was conceptually in 1989 - but had little success in the first years, as other products on the market were less powerful, but also more clearly though. Success came with the independence of Aprisma Cabletron Systems (now Enterasys Networks ) and thus with the independence of a hardware manufacturer. The first customer in Europe in 1990, the University of Bern and shortly afterwards the European Center for Nuclear Research.

Functionality

Spectrum -based very early on a modeling of the network and other IT infrastructure and may determine not only the condition of individual components, through polling, but also represent the relationships and correlations for use. Relationships could be represented as " associated with ", " one ", " is situated in " etc.
