The Cadillac Model D was built by the U.S. car manufacturer Cadillac in 1905 model.
In Model D it was Cadillac's first four-cylinder car; the program of the brand included otherwise with the Cadillac Model B and its derivatives until 1908 only one-cylinder vehicles, apart from the followers of the Model D.
Delivery of Model D was exclusively as an open touring car with fixed structure in the rear, in which three passengers behind the driver and passenger found a place ( in the single-cylinder models was this tonneau construction removable running).
The Model D was powered by a home constructed in -line four- cylinder engine, which transferred its power through a three- speed planetary gearbox to the rear wheels. The slightly long-stroke engine ( bore x stroke: 111.1 x 127 mm) with individually cast cylinders and updraft carburetor made 30 hp. The body sat on a steel ladder frame, the suspension took each two semi- elliptic leaf springs at the front and rear axle. Hand- lever operated mechanically, acting on the rear wheel drum brakes have been operated, the brake pedal is acted on the driving shaft.
With $ 2,800 of the Model D cost more than three times a Model B four- seater. The Model D was built 156 times; 1905 Cadillac made of all series total of 4029 pieces.
