Caesars (band)
Caesars is an alternative rock band from Stockholm, Sweden.
Band History
, 1995, César Vidal, together with a childhood friend, to found the guitarist Joakim " Jocke " Åhlund, a band and named themselves after the famous large-scale casino in Las Vegas, Caesars Palace. Two other band members were added: bassist David Lindquist was set as a drummer Jens Örjenheim. When indie label Dolores is a 3- track EP titled Shake It was produced.
The following year saw a small mini-album - Rock de Puta mierda. During the recordings of their first album Youth Is Wasted on the Young ( published in 1998 ), guitarist Jocke bought an old Farfisa organ, sustainable change in the band's sound. The Caesars then began to work on their einprägenden organ hooks.
In 2000, the band released the album Cherry Kicks. Drummer Jens Örjenheim left the group and was replaced by Nino Keller. Followed in 2002 by Love for the Streets and their power-pop always filled bigger venues. When the little label Dolores, where the Caesars previously sold its entire output, was swallowed by the giant Virgin, which turned out to be a lucky soon for the band. First, their material was in the publication Wust of the majors completely, and her name was not even a concept at Virgin. But when she hired a manager and who played the Caesars plates in the Virgin office, there were all excited and had to listen embarrassed that the band is already in your roster.
During the retro wave, the Caesars were sent in 2003 with The Soundtrack of Our Lives on U.S. tour. Since they were able to hold its ground well, Virgin released a best-of from their first three albums - 39 Minutes of Bliss ( In an Otherwise Meaningless World). The record was released in America. In order to avoid a possible dispute with the casino group Caesars Palace out of the way, the four Swedes previously changed its name to " Caesar ".
2005 celebrated the greatest success in its history, the band Jerk It Out. The company Apple used the song for the advertising of the new iPod Shuffles. During the course of the Caesars released the album Paper Tigers.
The album Strawberry Weed was published in March 2008 and contains 24 tracks. It was produced by Ebbot Lundberg of The Soundtrack of Our Lives.
In an interview with the Swedish radio station P3 February 13, 2012 Joakim Åhlund reported that the project Caesars is currently on ice.
