Café Anglais

The Café Anglais was a famous restaurant in Paris. Its name commemorates the Treaty of Amiens. It was opened on 1802 Boulevard des Italiens (No. 13) and 1913 closed; now located on the site of an Art Nouveau building. Among the regulars were Alfred de Musset, Alexandre Dumas and Eugene Sue. His gastronomic wedding had the establishment under chef Adolphe Dugléré (1805-1884); He has composed the menu for the " Three Emperors " Alexander II, Wilhelm I and Otto von Bismarck at their visit to the World Expo 1867.
