Cahuachi

Cahuachi is a former cult center of the indigenous Nazca culture and is about 28 kilometers west of the present city of Nazca in Peru.

In the years 1984 to 1998 in-depth excavations in this area of ​​ruins were under the direction of the Italian Giuseppe Orefici the Centro Italiano Studi e Ricerche Archeologiche Precolombiane ( CISRAP ) made ​​and partially reconstructed the settlement.

The site covers an area of ​​about 24 square kilometers and contains six built of sun-dried bricks stepped pyramids, one of which has the largest a height of around 30 meters.
