Cahul District

The Cahul Raion is a raion in Moldova. The Rajonshauptstadt is Cahul.

Geography

The Rajon located in the extreme southwest of the country. In the West, the state boundary with Romania along the river Prut. Near its confluence with the Danube lies with Giurgiuleşti the southernmost city in Moldova. The Beleu Lake is the largest non- artificial lake in the country. History
