Caibarién is a city and at the same time a municipality in the province of Villa Clara in Cuba. It was founded in 1841. The municipality was 1876.

Caibarien is known for its white beaches as The White City. Also famous are the parades for Carnival, which is held together with the neighboring cities of Remedios and Camajuaní.

Geography

The city is situated on the northern coast of Cuba and adjacent to the beach of Bahia de Buena Vista ( "Bay of the good view " ) on the Atlantic. It lies in the extreme east of the province of Villa Clara, Sancti Spiritus Province, near the. She also has an airport.

Economy and Tourism

In the past, the city served as a port for agricultural products such as sugar cane, tobacco, and fruit and vegetables. It also served as a fishing area for sponges. The hotels are now largely unusable due to lack of maintenance. Many homes have fallen on. The moorings in the harbor, originally used for agricultural products are destroyed. The two sugar mills, originally used for the sugar export through the port are closed today and expire. The largest sugar refinery is now a museum.

The carnival takes place twice a year, once in August / September and a second time in mid-December and lasts about two weeks each time.
