Caitlin Cary

Caitlin Cary ( born October 28, 1968 in Seville, Ohio, USA) is an American musician (violin, vocals) and songwriter from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Life

Caitlin Cary comes from a musical family and has six older brothers. Her father worked in his spare time as an instrument builder. Cary began at the age of six years with the play of the violin, as well as harpsichord, which had gerfertigt her father. Later she earned a master's degree in creative writing at North Carolina State University. Doer she met Ryan Adams know and founded with him in 1994, the band Whiskeytown, the alternative country played. In changing instrumentation, the band existed until 1999.

After the dissolution of the band, she began a solo career. In 2000 they released their debut EP Waltzie. Caitlin Cary is married to musician Eric " Skillet " Gilmore, who had also previously played in Whiskeytown.

Reception

The newspaper The Washington Post compared the album of Cary and Cockrell as "a worthy successor to the duets of Johnny Cash and June Carter, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, and of Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton ."

Mary Chapin Carpenter wrote on Cary's website that it was from the album While You Were not Looking so excited that she received 20 copies of it to give them away to friends.
