ÄŒakajovce

Čakajovce (Hungarian Csekej ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1111 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Nitra, kraj a county of Nitriansky.

Geography

Čakajovce located in the Danube hills on the left bank of the river Nitra, with the east -lying foothills of the mountains Tribeč. The N.M. at an altitude of 146 m lying the center is located eight kilometers north of the city of Nitra.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1156 as Seka writing. In the High Middle Ages Čakajovce was a fishing village, which was under the castle Neutra. Since the 16th century it belonged to the diocese of Nitra.

After 1918 came the county lying Neutra and the Kingdom of Hungary lying place to Czechoslovakia, and now Slovakia.
