Calcar

The calcar is a cartilaginous spur on the hind legs of bats, which spans the tail wing membrane ( Uropatagium ) between calcar, hind leg and tail of the animal. In some species, such as the Noctules ( Nyctalus ) he also carries the Epiblema, a stiff piece of skin in the tail wing membrane.
