Calf-intestinal alkaline phosphatase

  • CAS Number: 9001-78-9

In Calf Intestine Phosphatase ( CIP) is an alkaline phosphatase, a commonly used in molecular biology, enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of free phosphate groups of biological macromolecules. According to its name, it was first isolated from the intestinal contents of calves. Calf Intestine Phosphatase dephosphorylated primarily the DNA, RNA and protein, and preferably a slightly alkaline medium as a reaction medium. In molecular biology, it is particularly used in the cloning of plasmid DNA in order to avoid self-ligation after a cut with restriction enzymes. As an alternative, find the hitzeempfindlichere Shrimp Alkaline Phosphatase application.
