California State University

The California State University ( CSU abbreviated ) is adjacent to the University of California the second state university system in California ( officially there is the California Community Colleges as a third ). In 1972 (since 1982 with its present name ), many of the associated until then independent state universities to State University System of California.

The oldest campus is the San Jose State University ( 1857), the latest is California State University, Channel Islands ( 2002). To the system now includes 23 campus (see: Universities in California ) with around 400,000 students and over 42,000 employees.

The CSU is cooperating with the Arab American University in Jenin.
