Calumma boettgeri

Calumma boettgeri is a relatively small chameleon endemic, that is, exclusively, found on the island of Madagascar and a barrier island. Males and females both reach a length of about 13 cm. The species was discovered in 1888 by George Albert Boulenger.

Habitat

C. boettgeri prefers to live in the peripheral areas of the rain forest of Madagascar and the island of Nosy Be to about 0.3 to 4 meters high in trees and bushes.

Features

This chameleon has an elongated, flattened and narrow body. The snout of the animals is reminiscent of a nose, because there is a muzzle attachment.
