Camp Hovey

Camp Hovey is a U.S. army base about a mile outside the South Korean city of Dongducheon, which lies about 41 miles north of the capital, Seoul. The base is an outpost of the much larger Camp Casey support point, with which it is connected by the so-called Hovey Cut ( road). It is part of a large number of military facilities in the room Tongduchon, called Casey Enclave.

The base is one of many bases of the Army near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ ) on the border with North Korea, such as Camp Castle and the adjacent Camp Casey, where strong forces of the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division are concentrated, the nuclear association of the 8th U.S. Army.

Camp Hovey has an area of ​​4000 acres and offers accommodation for 2000-2500 soldiers and up to 500 civilian employees of the Defense Ministry and another 100 man staff whose duties are classified as secret.

Order
