Camp Nathan Smith

Camp Nathan Smith is a military camp in Afghanistan, the Canadian and U.S. armed forces, that is a few kilometers north-east of Kandahar since 15 October 2005. The camp is the headquarters of 2005-2010 conducted by the Canadians binational PRT Kandahar. Therefore, not only about 2,000 Canadian soldiers, but also Canadian diplomats and development workers are housed at Camp Nathan Smith. The second nation this PRTs are the USA, who stationed a regional headquarters and U.S. soldiers here. From summer 2010, the U.S. has taken over the management of the Kandahar PRT and thus also of Camp Nathan Smith.
