Canachus

Kanachos was a Greek sculptor of Sicyon, brother of Aristokles of Sicyon, who lived around 470 BC. He created, among other things, a wooden image of Apollo at Thebes and a bronze statue of Apollo for Branchidae to Miletus. From this statue pictures are handed down on Milesian coins. The statue is said to have Xerxes I transferred after his victory over the Greeks to Ecbatana. For Sikyon Kanachos delivered a seated Aphrodite of gold and ivory and also created several honorary statues for winners in competitions.
