The Canada Post Corporation, usually only English or French Canada Post Postes Canada, is the Canadian postal service. The company was founded in 1867 and employs approximately 72,000 people, making it one of Canada's largest employers.
Operations
Canada Post delivers a daily average of 40 million items to 14 million addresses. In Canada, there are 6,600 post offices; the Daily Mail is delivered by 15,000 letter carriers to over 20,000 host routes. On 11 December 2013 it was announced that the home delivery is to be set within the next 5 years generally in favor of the already common in the rural delivery to mailboxes. Every day there are 585 domestic flights on behalf of Canada Post.
In 2007 the company generated revenues of $ 7.5 billion at a delivery from 11.8 billion items, which resulted in a net gain of $ 56 million.
Name and business structure
The official name of the company is Canada Post Corporation. However, it calls itself in its publications only Canada Post or French Postes Canada, these two names are also found in the logo of the Canada Post back.
The Canada Post 1867 was founded by the Canadian government as a Post Office Department. The shares of Innova post are 51% majority, with the Canada Post, the remaining 49 % are related to CGI Group.
History
