Cancale

Cancale ( Kankaven Breton ) is a commune in northern Brittany in the department of Ille -et -Vilaine. It is located in the northwest of the Bay of Mont -Saint -Michel, about ten kilometers east of Saint- Malo, on the Emerald Coast. The town has 5277 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The town is divided into two neighborhoods: the Upper City (La Ville Haute ) is located at 45 meters above sea level overlooking the bay and is the center with church, market and shops.
