Cancello–Benevento railway

The railway connects the city of Salerno - Cancello Cancello with the provincial capital at Salerno Gulf of Salerno.

Expansion of state

The railway line is fully double-tracked and electrified. It is about 50 kilometers long.

History

In 1846, the first section between Cancello and Nola was opened. After the expansion, however, was slow and only in 1892, 49 years after the completion of the first section, with the section between Sarno and Bivio S. Lucia, the line was complete.
