The Canche in Montreuil

The Canche ( Dutch: Kwinte ) is a river in France, which runs in the Pas -de -Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It rises in the landscape Ternois, in the municipality of Gouy -en- Ternois. At first they drained in a south-easterly direction, but then turns to the northwest and flows after 88 kilometers between Etaples and Le Touquet- Paris -Plage in the English Channel. In the mouth region of the Canche is highly exposed to tides. Firstly, the water level of the river varies greatly then, on the other hand extensive salt marshes have arisen there.

Your Schéma d' aménagement et de gestion des eaux ( SAGE - Water Management Plan), which is currently in the drafting, concerns 203 municipalities and covers 1274 km ². To this end, a cooperative ( Syndicat Mixte pour le Sage de la Canche ) was founded.
