Canelles Reservoir

The Canelles Dam ( in Catalan Pantà de Canelles ) is located in the Spanish provinces of Huesca and Lleida in the course of the river Noguera Ribagorzana. It has a storage space of 679 million cubic meters and is used primarily to generate electricity.

The former public enterprises Enher ( currently ENDESA ) built it in 1960. Due to its capacity, it forms the largest artificial lake in the basin of the Segre and the second largest in the hydrographic basin of the Ebro to the dam of Mequinenza.
