Cannaphila

Cannaphila is a panel of three kinds of dragonflies genus. The genus belongs to the subfamily Sympetrinae and was described in 1889 by William Forsell Kirby. As Generotyp was an animal of the hitherto unknown type Cannaphila insularis. The distribution area extends from the southwestern United States through Central America along the Andes to northern Argentina.

Features

Cannaphila species are medium sized dragonflies and reach lengths of 36-45 mm. The abdomen (abdomen) of the males is black, that of the female light brown to red with yellow markings. The wings are transparent. The last Antenodalader is in the front wings complete, ie it ranges from the Costa loader to the radius artery.

Habitat

The adults of the genus Cannaphila live in dense and sparse forests where they wait for prey sitting on branches.
