The Canon EOS 10D is one of the Canon digital SLR camera with 6.3 megapixels, an APS- C sensor in CMOS technology with a form factor of 1.6 and Canon EF mount that came on the market in March 2003 ( Presentation: February 27, 2003). The official successor of the Canon EOS 10D is the 20D. In the meantime presented 300D was more directed at the beginner market of digital SLR cameras. The Canon EOS D60, the Canon EOS 10D and Canon EOS 300D have the same image sensor. Accessories for the D30 or the Canon EOS D60 also fits the Canon EOS 10D.

In contrast to the presented later DSLR with this sensor format offers the EOS 10D EF-S no, but an EF bayonet. Certain lenses with EF- S lens mount as the EF -S 18 -55mm f / 3,5-5,6, the EF-S 17-85/4 0.0-5, 6 IS USM or EF -S 10 - 22mm f / 3,5-4,5 USM can, however, use by minor modification also on the 10D, although sometimes with restrictions and without support from the manufacturer.
