Canonical hours
The Latin expression Liturgia horarum called the Liturgy of the Hours (literally: Liturgy of the Hours ) of the Catholic Church. Liturgy of the Hours is performed dutifully by deacons, priests and bishops of the Church, but also a part of life in the religious orders where it is recited or sung together in the rule.
The texts are listed in the Roman Breviary. The German version is titled " Book of Hours ".
Since the liturgical reform of Vatican II laity access should be brought close to the Liturgy of the Hours, especially the celebration of Lauds and Vespers.
