Canton of Huriel
Huriel is a canton of the arrondissement in Montlucon Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It comprises 14 municipalities, the capital is Huriel. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 1994, Michel Tabutin.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Montlucon". With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was assigned to the new district Montlucon and re-cut.

The canton is bounded on the northwest and north to the cantons Châteaumeillant and Saulzais -le- Potier in the arrondissement of Saint- Amand- Montrond in the department of Cher (Centre), in the north- east to the Canton Hérisson, on the west by the cantons Montlucon -Ouest and Domérat - Montlucon - Nord-Ouest and Montlucon -Sud and on the southwest by the Canton of Boussac, the arrondissement in Gueret Creuse (Limousin ).
