Canton of Isigny-sur-Mer
The canton of Isigny -sur -Mer is a further breakdown of the arrondissement of Bayeux in Calvados in the Basse- Normandie region of France. Representatives of the General Council of the department since 2002, Louis Lelong.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Bayeux ".
With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was again cut as part of the then arrondissement Bayeux.

Geography
The canton bordered to the north by the English Channel, on the east by the Canton Trévières, on the southeast by the Canton Balleroy, to the south by the District of Saint -Clair -sur- l'Elle in the Arrondissement of Saint- Lô in the department of Manche and the west by the cantons of Saint -Jean -de- Daye and Carentan, both also in the arrondissement of Saint- Lô in the department of Manche.
