Canton of Secondigny

The Canton Secondigny is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement of Parthenay in Deux-Sevres and the Poitou-Charentes region; its chief town is Secondigny. Representatives of the General Council of the department since 2001 (formerly DVD, now UMP).

Geography

The Canton Secondigny is 20 516 hectares ( 205.16 km ²) in size and has 7,013 inhabitants (as of 1999), which corresponds to a population density of 34 inhabitants per km ². He is on average 198 meters above sea level, between 112 meters and 249 meters in Le Retail in Secondigny.
