Cany-Barville
Cany- Barville is a commune with 3032 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Seine- Maritime in the Haute -Normandie; it belongs to the district of Dieppe and the Canton of Cany- Barville.
The village was founded in 1827 by merging the municipalities and Cany Barville.
Geography
The municipality is situated approximately 50 kilometers north- west of Rouen in the natural landscape Pays de Caux and is crossed by the river Durdent.
History
The medieval fiefdom Cany- Caniel was from the conquest of Normandy by King Philip II part of the royal estate. From 1370 it belonged to the House of Valois - Alençon and thus the Dukes of Alençon, later the Condé and finally the BECDELIEVRE family.
