Cap Anamur

Cap Anamur / German Emergency Doctors eV is a German aid organization, which was founded by Christel and Rupert Neudeck and the writer Heinrich Böll. It was formed from the relief committee A ship for Vietnam, which was founded in 1979 known for the rescue of thousands of Vietnamese refugees, the so-called boat people, with the hospital ship Cap Anamur converted world.

This action was increased from the limited regional operations to a permanent and international aid organization that is active simultaneously in multiple regions and hot spots in the world. Total Cap Anamur had been represented his projects in 55 countries. In July 2013 there were ten countries, mainly in Africa and Asia, where the organization was charity work.

The focus of the projects in addition to the medical care in Need are also the training of medical personnel on site and construction, for example, for repair of medical equipment or schools. The concept of Cap Anamur is on sustainable and effective aid in crisis regions from ( to help themselves ). The native population is largely involved in the operations. After leaving the German employees the projects by the locals themselves are continued.

Since 2009 Cap Anamur offers in Afghanistan to a nationally recognized training program for midwives and nurses.

After Rupert Neudeck had retired from the Board of Directors, was Elias Bierdel new chairman, who was not re-elected in 2004 because of a politically controversial bailout in Italy in December 2002. In October 2004, he was replaced by Edith Fischnaller as chairman of the association. Since September 2012, this ministry is exercised by the Essenes pediatrician Werner beam.
