Cap canaille is located in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in France and is at an altitude of 362 meters, along with the Grande Tête ( 399 meters), the highest cliff in the country. The rocks are also called Falaises de Soubeyrannes. The word '' canaille '' is derived from the Latin mons Canalis language and means '' mountain '' of water, based on the aqueducts built by the Romans for water supply.

Geography

Cap canaille is located on the Mediterranean in a bay of the Calanque coast between Cassis and La Ciotat. The cities of Marseille and Toulon are 30 kilometers east and 40 kilometers west of the cliff. Distance to Aix en Provence in the north is 50 kilometers.
