Cap-Santé

Cap- Santé is a city ( ville) and at the same time capital of the MRC Portneuf in the Canadian province of Québec.

Cap- Santé is located about 45 km west of the provincial capital of Quebec City on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. The city is located between Donnacona and the mouth of the Rivière Jacques -Cartier in the east and the town of Portneuf in the West. In 2006, Cap- Santé had a total of 2 554 inhabitants and an area of 54.38 km ².

History

Cap- Santé was founded in 1679, as La Sainte- Famille -du- Cap- Santé. In 2000, Cap- Santé finally got city rights.

Traffic

The Trans-Canada Highway runs from Québec coming to Deschambault - Grondines. The extending further south Autoroute 40 leads to Trois -Rivières. Cap- Santé is connected to the railway network of VIA Rail Canada.
