Cápac Yupanqui

Capac Yupanqui, according to Peruvian Quechua case Qhapaq Yupanki, was the fifth ruler ( Sinchi ) of the Kingdom of Qusqu ( Cusco ) ( around the year 1320).

Qhapaq Yupanki it became the first Sinchi to secure the Inca rule over the city Qusqu, and he conquered the first and neighboring towns, namely Kuyumarka ( Cuyumarca ) and Antamarka ( Anda Marca ). His wife Mama Curihilpay ( Qurihillpay ) was a daughter of the chief of Anta, who also lived in Qusqu and previously had been an enemy of the Incas. With her he had foreseen as the heir apparent son Quispe Yupanqui ( Qispi Yupanki ). Qhapaq Yupanki was the last Sinchi of urine Qusqu (sub Cuzco ), because after his death came another son ( and half-brother of Qispi Yupanki ), Inca Roca, to power. This counted itself to Hanan Qusqu (upper Cuzco ), probably because his mother Cusi Chimbo ( Kusi Chimpu ) came from there.

Qhapaq means in Quechua as much as " ruler " or " warlord ", while Yupanki with the verb ( are, literally, " you count " ) yupay can be brought into connection.
