Capdenac-Gare

Capdenac -Gare is a commune with 4432 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aveyron in the Midi-Pyrénées region.

Geography

The place is located seven kilometers from Figeac on the border of the departments of Lot and Aveyron.

History

While Capdenac -le-Haut to the department Lot heard Capdenac -Gare is part of the department of Aveyron. Capdenac -Gare originated from an ancient oppidum. The train station of Capdenac provided a good economic basis in the rural region.

The castle was since the 15th century belonged to the Empare family. 1622 there was a battle for the place. The lord of the manor was praised by Louis XIII for his participation. Originally dating from the 14th century castle, which was rebuilt in 1762, was sold in the course of the revolution.
