Cape Kolka

Cape Kolka (deprecated also: Domesnes, lett Kolkas rags ) is the northernmost point of the Courland Peninsula. Here is the border between the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga.

In ancient times this huge fireplaces were entertained, to warn the sailors. End of the 19th century, a 21 -meter high lighthouse was built on an artificial island.

For birders is the place of particular interest because here is a rallying point for migratory birds. In April flying here daily up to 50,000 birds over. The Cape Kolka and the resort are in the park includes and are a popular destination for tourists.
