Cape Province

The Cape Province was the largest of the four former provinces of South Africa. She went in 1910 from the Cape Colony forth. Capital city was Cape Town.

In the 1960s, the black population were separated by the provincial territory as a measure of the South African apartheid policy tribal areas. It created the homelands Bophuthatswana (also on the provinces of the Transvaal and Free State ), Transkei (also in the field of Natal ) and Ciskei.

With the reorganization of the South African provinces in 1994, the Cape Province was divided among integration of the homelands in the new provinces of Northern Cape, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and ( with parts of the Transvaal ) Northwest.
