Cape Vilan

The Cape Vilán (Spanish Cabo Vilán ) is a cape on the Costa da Morte in the province of A Coruña of Spain. It is located at the tip of a small peninsula of granite rock about 30 km north of the famous Cape Finisterre.

On the 104 m high plateau is one of Spain's oldest lighthouses. The range of the 24 m high tower is up to 30 nautical miles ( 55 km). The administration building is a small museum with exhibits from the history of the lighthouse; inter alia, the Fresnel lens with the electric arc lamp as well as a tracking device by Marconi from the end of the 1920s.
