Captain Beyond
Captain Beyond ( German: the captain behind it) was an American progressive rock band that was founded in 1972.
Members of Captain Beyond were Bobby Caldwell (drums ) ( ex- Johnny Winter ), Lee Dorman (bass guitar) ( ex- Iron Butterfly ), Rod Evans (vocals ) ( ex- Deep Purple ) and Larry " El Rhino" Reinhardt ( * 1948, † January 2, 2012, guitar) ( ex- Iron Butterfly ). The first album was dedicated to the recently deceased Duane Allman.
The band broke up after their second album in 1973. It was re-established with a new drummer in 1976. Although the band gained a certain cult status within the hard rock scene, she was never commercially successful.
