Capvis
Capvis Equity Partners AG, headquartered in Zurich is a Swiss private equity company. It acquires stakes in mid-sized companies in Switzerland, in Austria and in Germany, which are part of succession solutions, corporate spin-offs, Aktionärsauskäufen or in providing expansion capital for sale. The company size is usually between 50 and 500 million euros in sales, exceptionally larger, with Capvis seeking a majority of shares.
Since 1990 the company has carried out a total of 39 transactions with a total of more than three billion euros. Currently Capvis has about a dozen investments with an investment volume of around one billion euros.
History
The company was founded in 1990 as a division of Swiss Bank Corporation. From 1995, this occurred as SBC Equity Partners as a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss Bank Corporation.
On the occasion of the merger between the Union Bank, Union Bank of Switzerland to form UBS, the company was converted into a semi-autonomous funds (semi -captive ) 1999. UBS still held here a share of 40 percent, the remaining 60 percent were held by Swiss and international investors. 2003, UBS separated from their share, which Capvis since then occurs as independently acting funds.
