Car 54, please contact me ( original title Car 54, Where Are You? ) Is an American sitcom created by Nat Hiken. From 1961 to 1963 60 episodes were produced. The series is about two police officers of the New York Police Department, jointly drive the patrol in the district of the Bronx.

Content

Officer Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon Officer patrol ride together in the Bronx, they enter into the other by a faux pas. The short, stocky, curious, but not very bright Toody is married to the loud, dominant Lucille. Muldoon, an American of Irish descent, is very tall and lanky, quiet and intelligent. He is a shy bachelor who lives with his mother and two younger sisters. Also often the center of attention are the friendly colleague Leo Schnauser and his wife Sylvia.

Background

Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis were hired after the completion of filming of the series The Munsters, by which they were eventually known worldwide.
