Car (Greek mythology)

Kar ( gr Κάρ ) is a person of Greek mythology. He is considered the first King of Megara.

Kar is the son of the river god Phoroneus and Kerdo and had no descendants. According to him, an acropolis of Megara was named Karia, where he was the founding of the Demeter Temple is ascribed. Even at the time Pausanias his grave was to be seen on the road from Megara to Corinth.
