The Caraballoberge between the Cordillera Central and the Sierra Madre

The Caraballoberge (Spanish Monte Caraballo and Sierra de Caraballo ) are a mountain range in the Philippines. It is located in the central northern region of the island of Luzon and includes areas of the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino. It forms the central mountain nodes of the island and reaches a height of about 1680 meters above sea level.

The Caraballo Mountains form the watershed between the Cagayan and Pampanga whose main source areas are located in this mountain range. In the south of the mountain range is one of the largest reservoirs in the Philippines, the Pantabangan reservoir. The Caraballo Mountains are mostly wooded, very original and populated only slight.

The Marhalika highway running through the mountain range in the north- west, but the area is very remote. The major pilgrimage center station of the Cross is located in Bangan Hill National Park, in the north of the mountain.
