Carcavelos ( Portuguese pronunciation: kɐɾkɐvɛluʃ ) is a Portuguese parish west of the capital Lisbon. Patron saint of the village is Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (Portuguese for Our Lady of Salvation ).

History

Carcavelos was led to the elevation of the neighboring village Oeiras in 1760, as a small town ( Vila ). After that was the place until 1898 part of the circle of Oeiras, since 1898, the commune belongs to Cascais.
